About me

Over the years I have performed in important venues and festivals in Italy, France, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, United States, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia and Bosnia both as a band leader and as a sideman. I have taken part in many recording sessions again both as a leader and composer of the music in question and as a sideman.

In 2017 I was granted a scholarship to study at Maastricht Conservatorium in the Netherlands where I had the opportunity to specialize in Jazz Music, ensemble playing and improvisation with some of the leading musicians and teachers in Europe and the world such as Joachim Shoenecker and John Goldsby. Thanks to this opportunity I was able to record my first work as a leader and composer with the band Estia that I formed during my time there.

I’ve continued my work as a composer and recorded a series of videos with my music for quintet that have been released as singles featuring some of the most promising young musicians on the Italian scene such as Giovanni Cigui and Emanuele Filippi. During the summer of 2022 I formed a new project called “Cucumber Green”, a duo with Paris-based bassist Eugenio Dreas with whom I recorded my first publication: the EP “Cucumber green” is available on all digital platforms and has been received very positively by national newspaper music critics. In January 2024 “Trust the process”, my debut album is released on artesuono recorded with the Filippo Ieraci trio and featuring 10 original tunes composed and arranged by me.

I hold a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Jazz Guitar for which I obtained with top marks. During my time at the Conservatorio J. Tomadini in Udine (Italy) I studied with ECM recording artist and Grammy nominated Glauco Venier, Alfonso Deidda and Alessandro Florio among others. I was able to follow many masterclasses including Kurt Rosenwinkel, Steve Swallow and Adam Nussbaum, Gilad Hekselman, Melissa Aldana, John Clayton, Yotam Silberstain and I’ve been mentored by world class guitarists and educators such as Romain Pilon, Federico Casagrande, Eran Har Even and John Stowell who I’ve also performed with.

In 2021 I was awarded the “Tomorrow’s Jazz” prize for young musicians who are considered the most promising jazz musicians of tomorrow after having competed in the final in the Fenice theatre in Venice. I have been selected as finalist in many national and international Jazz Music competitions such as “Premio Nazionale delle Arti”, “Vittoria Jazz Festival”, “Chicco Bettinardi” and “Premio Marco Tamburini”.
